Circuit of Waterfalls Águas do Cerrado
The Águas do Cerrado Waterfall Circuit is one of the most complete day tours in Chapada dos Guimarães, featuring several waterfalls and natural pools for swimming in a preserved wetland area (vereda), where the Cerrado landscape is present in its full richness.
The attraction is located at Estância Buriti, about 60 km from the town center, including approximately 30 km of unpaved road.
To reach the waterfalls, the tour includes an easy walk of around 4 km round trip, done at a comfortable pace with swimming stops along the way. Shorter sections can also be enjoyed depending on the group’s rhythm.
The day usually begins at Pocinho do Amor, a small natural pool with running water and greenish tones, surrounded by buriti palms a typical Cerrado plant.
This itinerary works very well throughout the year. Because it lies within a wetland area, the waters remain clean and inviting even during the rainy season.
After visiting the waterfalls, the site offers a complete homemade lunch, with a varied buffet and options that accommodate different dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan meals.
